Wystawa prac z kolekcji pani F. Oyi Kuyumcu (FOYArt) to wizualna retrospektywa XVI wieku – najwspanialszego okresu w dziejach Imperium Osmańskiego, kiedy żył i tworzył wybitny twórca Sinan (1489-1588), nadworny architekt pięciu kolejnych sułtanów i autor 477 projektów budowli. Sinan wywarł ogromny wpływ na rozwój architektury w całym Imperium Osmańskim, a jego rozpoznawalny styl jest do dziś inspiracją w świecie islamu. 


Prezentowane prace współczesnych artystów tureckich kontynuują, a zarazem interpretują wspaniałe tradycje miniatury i kaligrafii. Pierwszą część wystawy stanowią wizerunki sułtanów oraz najznakomitszych osobistości Imperium Osmańskiego z XVI w. Autorką portretów, wiernie odwzorowujących konwencję epoki, jest miniaturzystka Belgin Gürhan, ozdobne inskrypcje wykonał kaligraf Mehmet Memiş, natomiast iluminacje Memnune Birkan. Kolejne prace to kaligraficzne opracowania fragmentów „Tezkiretü’l Bünyan” („Księgi Budowli”) autorstwa Sai Mustafy Çelebiego, dzieła zawierającego wspomnienia o Sinanie i jego komentarze historyczne, oraz wiersza Behçeta Kemala Çağlara o Sinanie i epoce, który stał się motywem przewodnim wystawy. Trzecią grupę stanowią wizualizacje słynnych budowli Sinana, opracowane przez Oyę Kuyumcu, Belgin Gürhan i Memnune Birkan. 

Wystawa jest jednym z pierwszych wydarzeń kulturalnych w ramach oficjalnych obchodów 600. rocznicy nawiązania stosunków dyplomatycznych między Polską i Turcją, przypadającej w 2014 roku. 

Wystawa zorganizowana we współpracy z Instytutem Yunus Emre w Warszawie, pod honorowym patronatem Ambasady Republiki Turcji.

The exhibition “Mimar Sinan and his splendid times” presents a visual retrospective of the 16th century, when the Ottoman Empire experienced its most magnificent era, both in artistic and political terms, and when Mimar Sinan (1489-1588) produced his works and started a new era in architecture. Great Architect Sinan, who designed around 477 buildings, gave a significant contribution to the world historical and cultural heritage and became inspiration for Islamic architecture till present times. 


First part of the exhibition includes portraits of the Ottoman sultans and other personalities of the 16th century, painted by Ms. Belgin Gürhan with the technique of miniature as an interpretation of the existing samples of that era. The sultans’ signatures written by the calligrapher Mr. Mehmet Memiş are illuminated by Ms. Memnune Birkan. Another part of exhibited works presents the poem of Behçet Kemal Çağlar, constituting the main line of our exhibition, and mesnevies of Mimar Sinan including his opinions about the sultans of the era, cited from the work named “Tezkiretü’l Bünyan” (The Book of Buildings) written by Sai Mustafa Çelebi. The last part of the exhibition researches the Ottoman architecture works designed by Mimar Sinan, displaying the whole magnificence of the era both in terms of architecture and decoration. Architectural infrastructure of tomb designs were prepared together by Mrs. F. Oya Kuyumcu, Ms. Belgin Gürhan and Ms. Memnune Birkan. 

The exhibition is one of the first cultural events organized on the occasion of 600th anniversary of Poland-Turkey diplomatic relations, celebrated in 2014.
